Research
My interdisciplinary research is grounded in the methodological and theoretical perspectives from communication disorders, psychology, and applied linguistics. The ultimate goal of my research is to improve the quality of life of people who stutter. My current lines of research are focused on understanding the relationship between literacy, multilingualism, cognitive development, and stuttering.​

Stuttering in the workplace

The aim of this study is to understand the workplace experiences of people who stutter and use we learn to improve the work environment for people who stutter.
We are interested in learning about the workplace experiences of adults who stutter and the attitudes of their co-workers toward stuttering. If are 18 years or older with work experience, we would love to hear from you.
Cognitive development in bilingual and monolingual children who stutter

The goal of this project is to understand how specific cognitive skills that are crucial for speech, emotional control, and academic achievement develop in children who stutter.
We would love to hear from you if have a monolingual, bilingual or multilingual child between the ages of 3 to 12 years. We are interested in learning about the development of children who do and do not stutter. We will share the report of your child's language, speech, and cognitive development with you.
Intimate partner violence and stuttering

The purpose of this study is to examine the occurrence of intimate partner violence in people who stutter.
We want to help raise awareness of intimate partner violence in people who stutter. If are 18 years or older, you are invited to complete the survey, regardless of whether you have experienced intimate partner violence.
